As part of our Powder River Basin team, I design AL for given wells & work with the field personnel to help monitor & optimize production of the field. This requires an understanding various AL techniques including tubing selection for flowing wells, Plunger Lift, Gas Lift, Rod Pumps, and ESP. Along with production optimization I work with the field personnel to understand and minimize Lease Operating Expenses for the field.

My experience in drilling engineering revolved around on-site operational experience as well as office engineering work. When on-site I shadowed the different facets of the overall drilling spread to observe and learn how to handle day to day operations as well as non-routine operations. Whilst in the office I shadowed established drilling engineers and geologists to learn how they plan & prepare for wells and how to use their set of tools to judge the performance of a rig and components such as bits, motors, & BHA's.

I've spent my time in facilities becoming familiar with the different equipment associated with an oil production facility including: pumps, compressors, 3-phase treaters, 2-phase separators, high efficiency flares, & fluid measurement devices. Most of the projects I was involved in revolved around the design of single and multi-well production facilities, but I have also spent time working with facilities associated with gas-lift, water transfer pipelines, wellsite automation, and various forms of emission equipment.

Field Intern in the Denver division. Spent the summer observing drilling and completions operations.

My primary task was to create a piping diagram of their North Midway Sunset Diatomite field. Also spent time creating a map that displayed average injection rates, pressures, and temperatures for steam injection for later engineer analysis. Finally I helped use Oil Field Manager to create an animation of surface deflection due to steam injection in the Diatomite field.

Worked with other interns in creating Process Flow Diagrams for their central facilities in the South Midway Sunset field. Also observed gas testing of backside gas on some of their South Midway wells.

Spent my time in the office compiling frac data for engineer analysis of frac techniques. I spent every other week in the Jonah field getting experience helping run a route and gauge condensate tanks.
