Our department became the primary point of contact for customer services provided by 6,000 employees and associates located at more than 100 facilities and offices in the United States and Canada. Vitran uses 10,000 pieces of equipment, including tractors, trailers, and containers, operated by 3,000 drivers and independent contractors.

Milan, Tennessee

Promoted from Regional Manager to Director of Central Operations, to Director of LTL Operations, to Vice President of LTL Operations, to Vice President of Administration. This leadership position provided an opportunity to staff and manage our corporate customer services, billing, traffic, and dispatch departments. Our Corporate Customer Service departments located in Milan Tennessee became our primary point of contact for customer services previously performed at our thirty five local company service centers.

Leadership of all local transportation operations and sales management while domiciled at Indianapolis, with responsibilities also for local terminal operations and sales management at satellite locations in Lafayette, New Castle, and Columbus Indiana. Served as an active committee member of the American Trucking Labor Association located at Indianapolis, as well as the State of Indiana Labor Association, arbitrating labor disputes.

Smith's Transfer Corporation Indianapolis In Chicago IL. Promoted from Terminal Manager to Division Operations Manager, to Division Sales Director, to Division General Manager. Division General Manager led the merge of Smiths Transfer and American Freight largest operating Division into a single operating team headquartered in Chicago. Division Sales Director staffed and led the company sales and marketing teams at 18 terminal locations in WI IL In and Ky. Authored the Sales Procedural Manual and Self Help Training Guide for the Explorer Sales and Marketing Division. Terminal Manager led the Indianapolis terminal team to the first profit in company history.
