Someone once referred to me as the most "respectable punk" they'd ever met, and that label has resonated with me since. To me, a respectable punk is:-free-thinking yet always open to collaboration;-self-starting and also a team player;-above all else, committed to what he sets his sights on.I've made it my mission to apply this respectable punk ethos throughout my life. While I pursued my education as an Applied Mathematics major at UC Berkeley, I balanced rigorous coursework with some more colorfuk passions, such as being music director of KALX 90.7 FM, one of the nations most reputable college radio stations.I graduated magna cum laude from Cal in December 2019, just in time to have to navigate COVID-19 restrictions fresh out of college. Despite this global setback, I was eager to apply the computational and analytical skills I learned from the classroom and soak up new tools to understand the world in the process.Then I found myself at Perr&Knight, an actuarial consulting and insurance operations solutions firm based out of Santa Monica, CA. Here, I've helped several carriers navigate the tricky world of workers compensation reporting, wrangling huge amounts of data into the required formats for a variety of data calls. I pride myself on bringing a more-than-respectable attention to detail to each and every project I'm involved in, while also keeping the decidely punk can-do spirit that advocates for new, more efficient, and more capable processes. Inquisitive by nature, I find that my colleagues and the clients we provide services for value my input highly.When I'm not writing complex SQL queries or thinking of new ways to improve a process, I'm usually at a concert or practicing my flipper skills at a local pinball arcade. I love learning new skills, whether it's a personal hobby, a new slice of technology, or better yet a combination of the two.
