I was the lead engineer in performing detailed sight-distance calculations to ensure the safety of conversion to flashing yellow arrow (FYA) operation. This was a unique scenario, where the sight obstruction was the opposing left-turning vehicle. The analyses combined my skills in GIS and AutoCAD and extensive knowledge of the MUTCD and AASHTO requirements to ensure that the conversion met all safety requirements.
