About Evert-Jan De Bruin

Life long software engineer / solution architect, now consulting organisations how to make their IT systems more sustainable.After graduating computer science in 2004, I have worked in various roles as software engineer / analyst / CTO / solution architect / enabling team member. What connects them all is that I love challenges and love building bridges across cultures, teams or organisations. Now the biggest bridge of all is to be built: between IT and a sustainable world. Often IT can be a catalyst for positive change (e.g. videoconference instead of flying around the world), but the energy consumption and production of all the necessary hardware is skyrocketing. The CO2 equivalent effects of IT are estimated to be twice(!) as much as aviation in total. This is why I have started GreenCodeSolutions.nl, to help organisations start on their path towards sustainable IT. I give workshops, help dev/ops teams to implement sustainable patterns and give strategic advise on a sustainable digital transformation.
