As an Enterprise Fraud Risk Data Analyst, I perform monitoring and reporting fraud trends for both internal team and business line stakeholders. For most of my reporting needs, I write and maintain SQL queries using SAS Enterprise Guide to pull data from across multiple types of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, IBM DB2/Netezza, Hadoop). To ensure the quality of my data, I perform monthly reconciliations against general ledger feeds and business line reports. As our team is the second line-of-defense for fraud-related topics, I frequently collaborate with our business line partners when fraud risk arises through insights provided by my analyses. Due to my high level of skill in writing SQL queries, I assist the larger Fraud and Payments Risk Management group in creating SQL queries that look into both external and internal fraud threats. On a yearly basis, I reevaluate our key performance indicators, taking into consideration historical and current trends, and propose new ones to our fraud stakeholders to better reflect our fraud trend expectations.

Originally beginning as an internship in Sunrise Banks' Risk department, my position serves as an analyst of fraudulent activity. As a Financial intelligence Unit Specialist, I support the Bank Secrecy Act division in providing daily analysis of more than 40 accounts that have activity consistent with the qualities of fraud and other risky behavior. I also validate any data on transactions to make sure that our transactional database is up to date. In compliance with governmental regulations, I generate nearly 60 currency transaction reports a week, using multiple sources to confirm their accuracy. Occasionally, I serve as an interpreter for our Spanish-speaking money service business customers during our annual reviews and confirm Spanish translations of advertisements for our Compliance division.

As an accounting intern, I reconciled our general ledger for our Federal Reserve Bank account, resolving any issues presented with our Wires division. I also reconciled the general ledgers for our tellers and ATMs across our six branch locations. On a daily basis, i verified the signatures of all our official checks that have been purchased or processed the previous business day to confirm that they have been authorized by the proper bank officers. During my time with the accounting department, I improved the process to reconcile teller ledgers by revising the formulas in our balancing sheet.

As a teller, my main responsibility was helping between 30 to 60 customers daily process their transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments, in an efficient and friendly manner. I was so accurate with my transactions that I exceeded expectations when reconciling my cash drawer, leading as one of the top tellers in terms of drawer balancing.

As a Student Territorial Manager, I was in charge of a specific subset of prospective students into order to maintain connections an interest in attending the University of Minnesota. My main forms of communication with my students was through phone and mail. When recruitment events were held on campus, I spoke with visiting students and their families in person, reflecting about my experiences as a student to offer a different perspective about college.
