University Photographer for Kansas State University Department of Communication and Marketing - Photo Services. Working alongside client managers for the universities individual colleges, our work is primarily used for publications and marketing materials. I had the opportunity to explore the diverse subjects and environments K-State has to offer. From agriculture research and the new National Bio and Agriculture Facility to portraits of outstanding students, every day at work required thinking creatively to produce unique images showing what the university experience is like.

Transportation of Kansas State University Photo Services archival materials to archives, established rehousing processes for department and begin rehousing and description, and became familiar with historical negative preservation, specifically with glass negatives.
Photography Editor
Summer photography editor for the K-State Collegian student newspaper. Published once a week as a tabloid style paper during the summer, my responsibilities included managing a staff of photographers and ensuring quality visuals for our print and online content.
Photographer
My main responsibility was for Denver University Athletics as official photographer and point person for our contract. During this time I covered every sport DU athletics offered, including hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, swimming/diving, and golf. After the college school season ended, my work with Clarkson Creative continued. I was offered the opportunity to help with the Colorado Rockies and was quickly put to use as the main photographer for pre-game requests and all external fundraising, marketing, and promotional events the organization offered. As the season progressed, I started covering full games on my own and became well known with the Rockies staff. I progressed covering lots of action as well as using my journalist background for seeing a baseball game in a different perspective. While continuing to work during the next year, I also had various opportunities to cover assignments over the country. With NCAA Photos, I was able to travel to St. Louis, MO. to edit images from the first round coverage of the 2014 NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament and later to cover the NCAA D1 Mens Golf Tournament in Hutchison, KS. Through covering these events I learned how it is working with a client like the NCAA and how images we produce are used. A major part of what Clarkson Creative does are our world-renowned Photography At The Summit Workshops. Through the workshop directors Chris Steppig (and formally Brett Wilhelm), I was able to work and learn at the Sports Photography Workshop in Colorado Springs both in 2013 and in 2014, as well as the Fall Nature Photography Workshops the same years. Through these workshops I experienced photography education that has been praised at the top of the photography community and learn from the top educators in the world. My experiences at Clarkson Creative have been the pinnacle of my career so far and I look forward to all future opportunities after.
Photographer Internship
Employee as photography intern at Clarkson Creative (formally Rich Clarkson And Associates), working under intern title from May through August before promotion to photographer at the end of the internship.During my initial months as an intern at the Granite Towers office location, my duties included various office and assistant positions. In our office, we retained Rich Clarkson's photography archive dating from the 1950's; including Sports Illustrated, NCAA championships, Topeka Capital Journal, and various other images from his expansive career as a photojournalist. My responsibilities first included updating our archive and assisting on gathering images for publications across the country. During these months I continued to take photos and helped on all assignments we had for our clients. Rich Clarkson and Associates have been the Colorado Rockies team photographers since the beginning of the organization in 1992 as well as retaining NCAA Photos, which includes covering every NCAA D1-D4 championship for all sports and keeping an archive of all images, and fulfilling needs of other clients like Donor Alliance/Donate Life Colorado and MS Can Do. Towards the end of the internship, I was offered the opportunity to continue working for the company as the point person and photographer for Denver University Athletics.

Yearbook Photography Editor
Photography editor for the 2012-2013 Royal Purple Yearbook. Managed staff of Collegian Media Group photographers to fulfill creative images for the award winning publication. During my time, I held various other positions and requirements to make a yearbook to stand the test of time. I helped to create and write unique stories and photographs for this legendary publication.
