Whilst undergoing a somewhat tricky Divorce lasting nearly 4 years, encomPOS Limited continued the work of Charton in developing EPOS software solutions for the Convenience Retail industry. We resold a package branded as encomPOS which fulfilled a wide variety of Convenience Retail sectors and was considered a specialist solution in the area. encomPOS formed a top notch set of support criteria within the industry with some of the finest turnaround times available. Various CCTV projects were undertaken including projects involving facial recognition systems and specialist coding for a couple of large symbol groups, and a wide variety of solutions and works were provided to all sorts of businesses small and large.

Charton was originally formed to produce graphic editing software for News companies including some of the larger paper printing companies still in existance today. Formation was between CHARlie Willetts and TONy Peltohaka and together prior to the release of products such as Adobe Photoshop (and their various other tools) to offer easy editing and automated placement of adverts and articles in papers and magazines.By around 1996 with the release of some of the outstanding graphics tools being released particularly by Adobe and the requirement to diverse, the software was bespoked to automatically manage printing presses, scheduling the jobs, allowing website automation to upload customers artwork, schedule and manage billing and control press downtime, conveyors for the printing, etc. One of our biggest clients of the time was probably Cradley Print who used the solution rigorously for nearly 10 years.As time progressed, many of the bespoke software packages we were writing were starting to appear as 'Off the Shelf' solutions, so again the systems were bespoked to make it more friendly from a point of sale. Various templates and systems were used and even prior to Touchscreen EPOS systems, some of our systems were widely used long before the Cash Register started being replaced by EPOS.Our fully Contact Related Management, Full Accounting Suite, Printing Press Control systems, Membership administration systems, Booking Systems, Chiropractic solutions and everything else was fundamentally bundled into a single product and our first EPOS software was released in 2002.Because of the vast amount of functionality incorporated within the system, it has produced one of the most flexible EPOS tools on the market and with integration of Chip&Pin, Advertising Screens, Scales, New Era coding, and various other bells and whistles it is fully capable of processing or communicating with we believe almost any other system quickly and easily.
