Zirconium(IV) hydrogen phosphate is newly developed and multi-functional mesoporous material and also one of the well applied solid acid materials in the form of layers. It has a good potential prospect in applying to chemistry, optics, electronics, materials science and Environics, etc. due to its role of multi-functional material.Its formula is Zr(HPO4)2.H2O, because of its layer sructure, it is used as additive for polymers to improve flame retardance, fire behavior, gas barrier, smoke emission properties, mechanical and other corrosive substances. It can be widely used in architectural coatings, automotive coatings, aircraft coatings, all kinds of resins.ZrP is also used as rheological agents for water or solvent based paints and inks.
