About Evgeniy Derkach

Starting my professional career right after graduating from university in 2002, I began by studying transport and logistics. It was the right start. Anyone who has worked as a logistician knows how it strengthens your own abilities, gives confidence in negotiations, and develops stress resistance and intolerance for mistakes, slowness, and amateurism. Seeing how other businesses are organized through transport flows, I smoothly transitioned to the role of a salesperson. This was a completely different challenge - more psychology and less rote knowledge, contrary to many textbooks and mentors. I was lucky - I learned sales in the most difficult lessons: elite B2B sales of the most expensive product in my segment.Later, I delved into procurement. A new challenge was to create a product from scratch and make the market change its traditions and habits and start buying something unfamiliar from you. And I mastered all of this by the age of 30. With this baggage of knowledge but still tempered by the responsibility of a leader, I discovered the world of working in a large corporation. Experience is something that you only realize by looking back. At 30, I thought I was ready for everything. But it turned out that it was only the beginning of my business career.Now I have come a long way in my work path. But business changes over time, and new knowledge has emerged, which I strive to master and actively use in my work.

We attracted the largest importers of the central-eastern region of Ukraine, and the vessel utilization rate exceeded 100% of the possible capacity. Over the course of 5 years, we transported a total of more than 15,000 TEUs with an average annual turnover ranging from $4M - $6M.From 2016 to 2022, Tavria Line also held a confident market share in the handling of cargo transported along the Dnieper River, including grain, general, piece, and bulk cargo. Our annual volume of cargo handling in the Port of Akvarel ranged from 200 to 300 thousand tons.
