Women’s Empowerment for Central America (WE4CA) is a 4-year project funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), Pro Mujer and Wakami in Guatemala and Nicaragua. The goal of WE4CA is to contribute to poverty alleviation by promoting the socio-economic empowerment of women and girls, including rural and indigenous women, as a strategy to enhance gender equality and address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). The project will support 5,000 women and youth entrepreneurs in Guatemala and Nicaragua, including rural and indigenous women, focused on the coffee and light manufacturing (including handmade products and textiles) sectors by improving business performance, access to gender-responsive financial services and community services

Managed grant operations for the Guatemala Entrepreneurship Development Initiative -GEDI, overseeing a portfolio of eight organizations from the first regranting facility. Co-led the design and implementation of the second regranting facility. Ensured compliance with USAID earmarks.Spearheaded ecosystem engagement workshops, fostering collaboration with Ecosystem Support Organizations (ESOs).Initiated and established Co-Lab, a collaborative space facilitating collective learning among ANDE members (ESOs) and stakeholders, providing a platform to elaborate new initiatives.Successfully secured financial support to strengthen Guatemala's entrepreneurship ecosystem.

- Played a pivotal role with USAID Guatemala in orchestrating the integration of the GEDI Initiative, deploying USD 32 million to fortify Guatemala's entrepreneurial ecosystem.- Spearheaded regional learning lab sessions, chapter meetings, and research initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of the entrepreneurial landscape in Central America-Led the pre-award grant phase, managing the selection and negotiation process for the initial cohort of eight grantees, securing a total of USD 10.3M.Supported grantees in aligning proposals with USAID earmarks, ensuring eligibility and compliance.
