As a pivotal team member in a small hotel, my role spanned across reception, administration, and marketing. In addition to handling customer enquiries and managing check-ins, check-outs, bookings and reservations, it was also my responsibility to liaise with external partners and coordinate daily operations using Monday, a project management software and Google Calendar. My versatility expanded to leveraging the marketing skills gained from my degree to develop and implement new strategies that enhanced The Albion’s online presence. This involved creating weekly newsletters, and up until January, managing their social media (organising and directing photoshoots, content creation and posting schedules). While other team members occasionally contributed to social media, my leadership resulted in a 749% increase in average reach. I also launched a giveaway campaign which gained over 2,400 likes and story shares and over 800 new followers. Additionally, I took on the role of marketing correspondent for Rarebits, an exclusive promoter of luxury Welsh hotels. This amalgamation of roles has not only enhanced my organisational and interpersonal skills but also showcased my ability to excel in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Shoots has developed my experience in all aspects of business, including entrepreneurship, marketing, customer service, time management and organisation. I enjoyed managing the social media presence of the business, including creating content and crafting engaging captions. I am proud to have launched a successful giveaway campaign that significantly increased brand awareness and attracted nearly 150 new followers, with 496 likes in total. Within just three months of launching the Instagram page, I had a following of 380 due to the engaging content, captivating captions, and visually appealing graphic design that I created.Despite having a limited stock of approximately 50 orders, my dried flower bunches sold out within two weeks of launching. Over the past few years I have been a social media assistant to my sister’s jewellery brand (@maggie__cross on Instagram). This has been a great opportunity to gain experience in the field of work I hope to be involved in.Through creating engaging captions, photo and video content and through the use of branding and graphic design, I helped Maggie’s Instagram following grow from 5K to 10K in one year, and since then, it has reached almost 14K.This taught me a lot about marketing to a younger audience, particularly through Instagram, and the importance of remaining ‘on brand’.Typical tasks would include; examining analytics and insights to ensure engagement remains high, spending time in the studio taking photos and video content for Instagram reels & Tiktoks, creating captions, choosing and editing pictures, uploading daily stories and grid posts and finding and booking workshop spaces.
