A second year BSc Food Science and Nutrition student at the University of Leeds looking for a year in industry starting from 2025 to gain work experience. I am eager to learn more about the science of improving and creating new food products which are safe and appealing to consumers, with a strong focus on nutrition and sustainability.My recent work placement with Heart Research UK built upon my knowledge of healthy eating, particularly when it comes to reducing the risk of heart disease. I researched and produced recipes aimed at people with this condition, ensuring they were convenient and low budget - factors many consumers take into account when it comes to food.I am pleased to say that I am part of the Food Science Society this year as a Social Secretary, where I will get the opportunity to meet new students and welcome back current members. I look forward to planning fun and exciting events with the committee, keeping everyone updated by posting about activities on social media. I want to demonstrate my passion for the course while enabling students to connect and make new friends, something which helped me greatly when I was a first-year.
