Whole head slices were stained for selected lymphocyte markers, imaged with the Nikon Scanning Confocal A1R-Si+ microscope and analysed with ImageJ.• Genotyping: DNA isolation, PCR amplification and gel electrophoresis techniques were carried out to determine the genotype of reporter and knockout mouse strains used in this project. -
