My passion for digital marketing began during my final year at university, when I sat a certificate with the institute of direct and digital marketing that gave me a broad understanding of core marketing principles to build on. Over the past 4 years, I have gained a large amount of experience in PPC, SEO, and Content marketing, as well as having opportunities to get involved with other areas such as web design, email marketing and social media. From my background in media production, I have been able to bring an element of creativity into my marketing and have used the skills I gained in videography, graphic design and writing as my foundation.

I was working with a team of students to produce content that promoted the event and get this out to the events Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds live on the day. My specific role on the day was video supervisor , leading a team of three other students to get video coverage of talks, networking and other events happening on the day. The footage was then being edited and posted in our media hub, where we had students managing the feeds and preparing content. On the day my main tasks involved ensuring there was someone to cover all areas of the event that we needed footage of and ensuring that my team were aware of where they needed to be at what times and what they should be doing. Despite changes to the schedule and plan throughout the day, this went smoothly and the team worked well together to get all the necessary footage. As well as this I also provided support to our video editor on the day, checked and reported on the quality of the footage coming back to ensure what we were producing was of a high standard, and even took the opportunity to get out on the floor and do some filming myself. This event provided great experience as it was the fist time I had the opportunity to manage a team in a live working environment, with the added pressure of the event being attended by many experienced filmmakers making the professionalism with which we operated more important. I had the chance at this event to get involved in many different aspects of the day and spent along time before the event preparing for it, giving me a good sense of all the work that goes into running the social media for a large scale event. The feedback post event was positive and as a team we were all very pleased with the way we had worked and the content we had produced. -
