Evita Morin is the Chief Executive Officer of Rise Recovery, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to youth and families affected by substance use disorders. She is a licensed social worker with over 12 years of experience in the civic and nonprofit sector, focusing on marginalized communities impacted by permanent supportive housing, homelessness, alternative education, and justice re-entry. Morin holds degrees from Columbia University and its School of Social Work.As CEO of Rise Recovery, Morin implements long-term strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of substance use in her community. She successfully directed a capital campaign that raised $8.5 million to establish San Antonio's first family and youth support center for recovery. She has also engaged in critical dialogue and influenced policy with local and statewide stakeholders in behavioral and mental health. Under her leadership, Rise Recovery has expanded resources and partnerships, launching initiatives such as the 24-Hour Bexar County Helpline and collaborations with seven public school districts in the greater San Antonio area.Morin is deeply passionate about her community, serving as a planning committee chair for the Masters Leadership Program of Greater San Antonio’s Human Services Day and a COSA/HUD Subcommittee Chair for Youth with Behavioral or Other Medical Health Issues. Her contributions have been recognized by San Antonio Woman Magazine, the SA Business Journal, and the National Association of Social Workers.In addition to her professional achievements, Morin is in recovery from trauma, mental health, and substance use. She is a proud mother of two and enjoys writing, karaoke, Crossfit, aerial arts, rollerskating, and traveling.
