My consulting/training/writing career was placed on hold in 2005 due to my husband's diagnosis with multiple myeloma (died in 2014 due to medical abandonment/errors.) Now I'm reinventing myself and re-launching my consulting/writing business, Lifespan Education. Redesign of my website, a series of memoirs, many new blogposts and a content book on Sex, Gender and Attraction are currently in progress. I'm retired from teaching 18 years at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wa., full-time and part-time at the undergraduate level and the Masters in Teaching Program.. Co-author of Teaching about Sexuality and HIV: Principles and Methods for Effective Education (NYU Press, 1996, still in publication.) I have interdisciplinary training and experience (developmental psychology, sexuality/gender, history, social studies, health/PE, training educators, consulting.) I have 12 years experience in the medical field (oncology and radiology) as transcriptionist and full-time cancer caregiver/patient advocate. I'm passionate about writing about integrative medicine, the medical industry and how to successfully navigate and survive it. I've worked with a variety of clients, including state agencies, city government, businesses, employee unions, community organizations, non-profits, etc. I led a team of health educators to create a comprehensive sexuality/sexual health curriculum for incarcerated juveniles. I worked solo to create an award-winning video about LGBTQ+ youth in out of home settings ("We Are GLBTQ") for the Wa, St, Children's Administration. I've planned and coordinated conferences, designed and conducted several day trainings (based on my book) for a national and international audience., and served as coordinator and/or keynote speaker at many conferences around the US. I have completed 3 cross-country solo RV trips since my husband's death, "boondocking" most of the way, exploring and doing photography. I'm chemically sensitive and work only remotely now.
