Ewa is an Associate at Atelier One and works from the London Office. She joined Atelier One in 2013 after graduating from University of Cambridge with MEng (Hons) in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering. During her time at Atelier One, she worked on a broad range of weird and wonderful projects from bespoke sculptural pieces for artists such as Antony Gormley, stage sets for Beyonce, U2, and Metallica to name a few, film and theatre engineering, to large-scale buildings boasting complex geometries and a myriad of materials. She was responsible for structural engineering of the double-curved glazed gridshell roof of Chadstone shopping centre extension in Melbourne, nominated for the IStructE (Institution of Structural Engineers) Award in 2018. She also worked on the innovative and industry-changing folding carbon fibre modular and deployable Spaceframe system that received a Construction Innovation IStructE Award in 2019. She is also proud to have worked on the stunning Green School gymnasium in Bali, constructed from locally sourced raw bamboo thus achieving minimum carbon emissions. The gymnasium was awarded the Supreme Award for Structural Engineering Excellence in 2022 for advancing structural application of low-carbon materials. More recently, she was the engineering design lead on the ABBA Arena development in East London, currently the largest demountable structure of its kind in the world. Extensive use of timber in the development won the project 2022 Wood Award and 2023 IStructE Award. Ewa is also a technical tutor at Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) and has been a visiting lecturer at Royal College of Art.
