My career in Product Design has spanned a period of nearly 30 years and I have gained a wealth of experience and inspiration working on a huge range of diverse products, rubbing shoulders with many talented designers and interesting clients along the way.I have always had a strong desire to fix, improve or make from scratch the products in my world. This desire at an early age gave me a grounding in "how things work".My first design roles with MFD and then Greaves Best Design in Southampton, allowed me to utilise my very hands-on approach to design and engineering which has stayed with me to this day.Forth Product Design (FPD) is where I honed my skills in detailed part design for injection moulding and managing projects from concept to reality. Latterly at FPD I was promoted to Design Director.i4 Product Design Ltd was founded in 2003 by myself and 3 colleagues. I have enjoyed working with numerous clients; one highlight being a long and fruitful relationship with Flymo, completing in excess of 20 products over a 10 year period.As Technical Director of i4 I currently Design Lead for a variety of i4’s clients' projects – overseeing the design work / critiquing / motivating / guiding the vision / developing working practices.It is not in my nature to be complacent and I seek out new insights and pragmatic approaches to help our clients achieve their objectives.
