Bio below 👇🏻 Ewan Pow was appointed by the Minister for Public Health to the Board of Directors of Public Health Scotland as a Non-Executive Director in August 2022, becoming the youngest director of an NHS Board in the United Kingdom, aged only 22. Ewan’s previous experience includes roles as the Scottish FA’s Youth Ambassador of Change for Refereeing, Chair of the Youth Referee Ambassador National Committee and as a member of the Young Scot Health Panel. He has ongoing roles volunteering with widening participation charities such as In2MedSchool. Ewan was the recipient of the Young Achiever award at the Scottish Health Awards in 2022. Ewan holds a BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences degree from the University of Edinburgh and is currently a Medical Student at the University of Aberdeen. Ewan has a diverse clinical experience, from working as a Clinical Support Worker in an Emergency Department, to delivering primary care in a refugee camp with a charity, through to conducting clinical research as part of a wider research team. Ewan has an ongoing interest in Incivility and in Emergency Medicine and has recently presented at a number of Royal College of Emergency Medicine conferences along with publishing research in the Emergency Medicine Journal (EMJ). In his spare time, Ewan is a National List referee for the Scottish FA.
