I joined a small team that guided and supported two groups of clients in an adventure rally across Rwanda and Uganda in Porsche 911 (964/993) and Porsche Cayennes (E1/E2). My role was mostly to make sure the cars were 100% good to go for the clients for each stage. The small team consisted of 2x mechanics, A client manager and Trip manager.

I served a modern apprenticeship with this company and have continued to serve the company until present.During my time here I have gained a vast amount of knowledge on programming, running and maintaining CNC Hurco vertical milling machines. I am competent with milling machining methods and am always keen to learn about new tooling technologies that are continually entering the market.I also have good experience in manual turning, hobbing / gear cutting, and welding. The maintenance and breakdown repairs of the machines I operate is carried out by myself. This includes but not limited to; slide way oil and coolant monitoring, spindle drive belt replacement, axis ball screw drive bearing and belt replacement, tool probe replacement and auxiliary air jet feed installation. Material cutting experience examples include Aluminium, (2014,6082 and 7075), Steels (Mild, EN8, EN16T and EN24T), Stainless Steels (304, 316, 321 and 404) and Titanium (6AL-4V).

I cover a number of job roles with Idola Motorsport. First and foremost I am a mechanic for the team at events. This includes general maintenance, problem diagnoses and repair of the cars between the times that they are out on track. When the car is out on track I also take the role of car controller which requires me to communicate with the driver and direct the car when in the pitlane.This year I have attended every round of the Praga Cup endurance series and as time with team continues I hope to be able to attend more events with them.
