I have the distinct privilege to work with superb people from many disciplines at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. I’ve delivered a variety of engineering and logistics solutions in support of our flight projects and institutional service centers. Here are some of the roles I’ve filled in the last seven years.Enterprise System Interface ManagerCurrently, I work in the Production Planning and Control group at JPL as an ESIM. In my day-to-day I bridge the gap between flight projects and production groups. I provide logistics support for eight testbed teams from five projects at the In-Situ Instruments Laboratory at JPL, as well as other facilities. I am piloting an engineering BOM solution to align flight project design information with institutional production planning. I maintain the PPC website which presents facility schedules, specific flight project hardware status and general information on how to get logistics done at JPL. I coordinate between teams from engineering, research, integration and test, business, IT, inventory and facilities management.Systems EngineerI piloted the Enterprise Change Control Process in the Enterprise 2.0 initiative at JPL. This project was designed to address the difficulties related to institutional infrastructure changes across the JPL divisions. I guided change proposal teams through our process, ultimately reporting change analysis and recommendations to executive governance boards. I recorded customer needs, impact analysis and architecture requirements to deliver a recommendation that would best support the lab’s values and priorities.Software Systems EngineerDuring my time in the JPL Computer Aided Engineering team, I contributed to high-profile missions including the Europa Lander, Europa Clipper, and Mars 2020. I was embedded on these flight projects to implement CAE platforms and services to deliver project analysis articles. For Europa Lander, I piloted an integration of their Master Equipment List with SysML modeling. On Europa Clipper, I developed a containerized analysis implementation for mission planning using Docker and Jenkins. I maintained requirements and documentation for a testbed procedure platform using Jupyter notebooks on the Mars 2020 project. In addition to these embedded roles, I maintained a suite of systems engineering tools including OpenMBEE, MagicDraw, MapleMBSE, Phoenix ModelCenter and more. I conducted training, developed plugins and worked closely with our vendors to provide an effective and connected platform for JPL engineers.
