In building a level of Service Excellence I strive to provide team members with cross training, self confidence and relevancy. The key to team building is providing direction with a positive attitude, strong communication skills and setting goals and making the commitment to succeed. How do you take on a career or project by the horns. Last year our Telecom Analyst left the company a month before a firm wide Cisco project rollout. Having minimal experience with Telecom and IP Phones I was recommended as a Project Lead for the rollout and took the position by the horns. Over the course of the month I gained and pulled knowledge from firm resources to ensure I could best manage and support the rollout with few speed bumps and within the timeline for deployment.After 3 weeks, 1 less than we had scheduled, the project was complete with little to no downtime for users and a new understanding of making improvisions and decisions based on technical experiences from previous project rollouts.The Cisco project rollout confirmed to my colleagues and myself that I had the confidence to take on a project and place all the responsiblity on my shoulders without a fear of failure. I took the Project Lead role because I was confident in my ability to lead and overcome challenges. We met and exceeded the goals of the Cisco phone rollout and the customers were extremly satisfied with the results.
