Dr Exequiel Porta (Exe) is a Research Fellow in Chemistry at University College London (UCL School of Pharmacy), where he plays a pivotal role in advancing the discovery of new medicines targeting coronaviruses. With a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences, distinguished by the Best GPA and recipient of the Best Argentinian thesis award, Exe's academic journey has been characterized by exceptional accomplishments. He also holds an MSc in Biotechnology with First-Class honors (Top 1%) from Rosario National University, Argentina. Further augmenting his expertise, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in neurochemistry under the National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina. His most recent position was as a Research Fellow in Chemical Biology at the University of Durham (UK), funded through the CoFUNDED (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) scholarship.In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Exe has been honored with numerous national and international awards. Notably, he is a Member of prestigious organizations including the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), American Chemical Society (US), Argentine Society in Organic Chemistry (Argentina), Argentine Society in Mass Spectrometry (Argentina), and the Network of Neglected Tropical Diseases (Global).
