Currently, I am the Vice President for our Mid-Atlantic Transportation group in the DC/Maryland/Virginia region. Approaching 5 years with EXP, I have had a lot of opportunities to expand my responsibilities from highway, toll systems, and supporting buildings to rail and stations (of which is really exciting to me!). A few recent additions to my experiences are Safety and Security and Systems Integration. I current manage several projects/contracts for new and rehab of horizontal transportation systems and metro rail stations.Through 20+ years working for the State of Maryland, I delivered many projects from small to mega; highway design to MEP; environmental to tunnels, and design and construction divisions. As the Chief Engineer for the Maryland Transportation Authority, I managed billions of dollars in projects, served on National committees as an SME, lead the designs to improve the fire response capabilities of their highway tunnels. One of my crowning achievements was when I was selected to be one of just two State representatives to be a part of the Federal Highway and NCHRP team who went to Australia and New Zealand to investigate and report on the Fixed Fire Fighting Suppression Systems they had in place. I know that report has made a significant increase in the awareness of how effective these systems are in the United States. Just as a side note, the live vehicle fire in a tunnel was the absolute best.
