I help automate database deployment pipelines. My big contributions have been 1) developing a Rules Engine which checks if database code meets Cigna standards, and 2) developing a code generator that creates support objects (like backup tables, views, and statistics commands). I developed grammar files in Antlr that can read database code for Teradata, Oracle, Hive, Postgres and Redshift. Those enable the Rules Engine to check all kinds of things. It will even check non-database code such as ESP job schedules and Erwin data-model extracts. Along the way I also work with Python, Git, Jenkins, Jira, UDeploy, Linux, and AWS. I am practicing deployment procedures with Terraform.

Wrote DDL scripts to create application objects (mainly Tables, Indexes, and Views) in Teradata. Wrote a 7,000-line Unix shell script to automate how those scripts were formatted, check for standards against 2-dozen rules, dry-run all the DDL files on a virtual server, check-in the files to Git, build a Liquibase package in Jenkins, and prepare for deployment in IBM UDeploy. Automating all that enabled us 4 App DBAs to keep up with an explosion of new ETL applications from over 20 development teams. Tracked Agile user stories in Rally.

Wrote database programs using Oracle, reengineering the laboratory business flow using about 50 Oracle Forms and Reports. Certified as Novell Netware Engineer. Received special recognition in the Pharmaco Target-100 club because of client feedback.
