As an Agribusiness Advisor for the Peace Corps, I partnered with two local NGOs working with Village Savings and Loans Associations and Mushroom Training and Cultivation. I assisted in the development of monitoring and evaluation proposals for the VSLAs in order to identify ways to increase financial literacy within the existing groups and create savings goals for the annual saving cycles. As a business advisor for mushroom farming, I created marketing strategies to inject a diluted food market with a new, medicinal source of nutrition through restaurant partnerships and sampling stations during Market Days.

Prior to Tiger Pantry’s opening in October 2012, I researched and presented relevant statistics in Missouri, Columbia and on campus to demonstrate the need of a University food pantry. After opening, my duties shifted to the tracking of food distribution and intake as well as organizing demographic and usage data on a client by client basis.
