I was born and raised in South Africa. During the semester breaks from my private school education, I spent the vast majority of my time on our family farm. This allowed me to develop an interest in the field of engineering, seeing as I worked with my grandfather, a mechanical engineer, on designing and developing various projects. Upon completion of my matric, I pursued this interest in mechanical engineering and enrolled at the University of Pretoria. To amass as much information as I could about the engineering industry, I performed vacation work at various reputable engineering firms for several years, the details of which are set out in (4) above.Upon completion of my studies, I started a sole proprietor business, CME, to afford myself better opportunities for the development of my skill set. From January 2018 to date, I have been involved, on a full-time/part-time basis, with an R&D company with a focus on new technology development. I worked at an engineering company on the design, procurement and construction of a pilot fluorination plant as well as a pilot Hydrogen generation plant. I was also involved in the procurement and construction of a unique electrowinning pilot plant. During the last two years, I have been heavily involved in the mechanical design and planning of various process plants ranging from mining to fuel. A colleague and I also started a mechanical engineering company in 2022 and we are currently doing mechanical engineering consultation work on various projects globally.I am a dedicated, goal-driven and detail-orientated person who will, once given a task, not stop until the task is completed.I have a very positive outlook on life and strive to always make the best of any situation I find myself in. This positivity is however tempered by a realistic view of the world and a drive to determine the best possible way to find a solution to any given problem. I am eager to learn from experts in my field of study and enjoy working in and contributing to a cohesive and positive work environment.

  I am the co-founder and director of Exponential Engineering Pty Ltd providing mechanical engineering consultation to clients worldwide. The work mainly involves mechanical plant and equipment design. Plant layout and construction also form part of our current scope.Since 2021, I have been contracted by Resonant Nuteq to assist with the design and layout of various production plants, ranging from mining to the fuel industry. This included the overall and detailed plant layout as well as the detailed design of various components such as tanks, piping systems and support structures.I am also involved with Free Radical Process Design, FRPD. The company has established a pilot plant for a unique electrowinning process. I was involved with the component designs, procurement and construction of the plant. I have also done other work for FRPD, ranging from safety shower system design to material mixer design and specification.I was contracted by Thermtron Scientific PTY Ltd from 2019 to 2021. This company is involved with various government and privately funded projects in the engineering field. I was involved with the pre-feasibility study of a waste management project. The project focused on the management of ship-generated waste in South Africa. I was also part of the construction of a pilot fluorination plant, after being involved with the design and procurement thereof. The plant is unique in the sense that revolutionary technologies are being used for fluorination. Additionally, I was involved in the design, procurement and construction of a pilot Hydrogen Plant, for Anglo-American and Engie, with Thermtron. This plant focused on generating hydrogen for the world’s largest hydrogen-powered mine truck.At the start of my career, I was mainly contracted by Maxwell Applications Technologies Pty Limited, a company working on designing new technologies in various fields, with a specific focus on isotope separation.
