I was born and raised in South Africa. During the semester breaks from my private school education, I spent the vast majority of my time on our family farm. This allowed me to develop an interest in the field of engineering, seeing as I worked with my grandfather, a mechanical engineer, on designing and developing various projects. Upon completion of my matric, I pursued this interest in mechanical engineering and enrolled at the University of Pretoria. To amass as much information as I could about the engineering industry, I performed vacation work at various reputable engineering firms for several years, the details of which are set out in (4) above.Upon completion of my studies, I started a sole proprietor business, CME, to afford myself better opportunities for the development of my skill set. From January 2018 to date, I have been involved, on a full-time/part-time basis, with an R&D company with a focus on new technology development. I worked at an engineering company on the design, procurement and construction of a pilot fluorination plant as well as a pilot Hydrogen generation plant. I was also involved in the procurement and construction of a unique electrowinning pilot plant. During the last two years, I have been heavily involved in the mechanical design and planning of various process plants ranging from mining to fuel. A colleague and I also started a mechanical engineering company in 2022 and we are currently doing mechanical engineering consultation work on various projects globally.I am a dedicated, goal-driven and detail-orientated person who will, once given a task, not stop until the task is completed.I have a very positive outlook on life and strive to always make the best of any situation I find myself in. This positivity is however tempered by a realistic view of the world and a drive to determine the best possible way to find a solution to any given problem. I am eager to learn from experts in my field of study and enjoy working in and contributing to a cohesive and positive work environment.
