The main reason for me going as maintenance manager for one of the regions in the Snowy was to implement business processes to underpin Reliability Engineering efforts. Managed a work group of about 20 staff that included non-trades, apprentices, trades and team leaders. Managed to get process in place to start recording costs against machines in a short time before the Tarong Energy opportunity came up.

Helped Engineers with capital project justification, Developed processes to reliability model generating assets to forecast availabilities, for a generator, or portfolio of assets and transmission systems. Developed Reliability clauses for contracts and supported those clauses. Helped develop and implement a Defect Management process.

Involved in condition inspections on all equipment used in Open Cut mining both fixed and mobile. Helped develop operating cost models for equipment, optimised maintenance strategies using RCM Principles. Shutdown supervision, implementation and running of CMMS systems for clients.

Assisted with Engineering testing and management of the Quality System. Managed the drawings and data being collected in the manufacturing system. Assisted with financial processes in the company, such as Payroll, Payments foreign currency transactions.
