Eyal Bartfeld, DMD, Ph.DDr. Eyal Bartfeld is an entrepreneur with a diverse background in medicine, science and technology. He started Irody in 2008, playing key roles in focusing the business and providing technology vision. Prior to starting Irody, Dr. Bartfeld cofounded Integra5 and led the company from its founding in 1999 until 2006. During that time, the company grew to 50 employees working in two sites and underwent several rounds of VC investment. Integra5's award-winning real-time interactive messaging services for television serve millions of households. Dr. Bartfeld previously founded UniTel, a developer of unified messaging. Under his guidance, the company deployed more than 300 systems worldwide and raised two rounds of financing. UniTel was acquired in 1999.Earlier in his career Dr. Bartfeld spent several years in academia doing brain research. This research performed at The Rockefeller University in New York and at the Weizmann Institute. Dr. Bartfeld has mapped the functional architecture of area V1 of the visual cortex of the monkey, an achievement published in the Proceedings of the American National Academy of Science and is routinely cited in scientific articles and text books.Dr. Bartfeld is the inventor of 15 issued patents. He earned his PhD in Medical Informatics and a DMD from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
