I am a Geek. I've always been a Geek, both figuratively and at one point literally (just look at my job experience!). I love technology not just for the appreciation of gadgetry, but for how it can enhance our lives. I've been fortunate enough to make a career combining my two favorite things: Technology and People. I love helping people and companies understand and use technology, whether for work or for play.For work, I do this in my roles as CIO, Solution Specialist, VP of IT, and with small to mid businesses in nearly ever industry. I focus on helping the businesses I work with, either directly or with partners, to better understand how to leverage the technology that's available today to sell more and manage less. Technology shouldn't be a pain-point or a cost center. It should be a tool to allow your business to be more agile, and to run better with less. If IT isn't helping your business make more money, you're doing it wrong!At home, I'm big into smart home automation and how it can enhance the way we live everyday. What started as a love of PC's and Home Theater has turned into WiFi lights, ZWave switches, Multiroom Harmony control, Nest, SmartThings, Arlo cameras and basically a web-connected and Echo or Google Home controlled everything. And while I'm still not exactly sure about the use case of a web-connected oven, I do love having everything connected and able to be intelligently controlled by my phone or my voice.I'm passionate about technology at home and in business, and I love talking about what's being done now and what is coming next.
