LS-DYNA - Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) SpecialistDevelopments and applications encompass: - Impact simulations, including hypervelocity impacts on honeycomb structures, ballistic perforations on various metals, blast loading on protective structures, ballistic soil penetration… - Metal forming and welding simulations involving manufacturing processes such as extrusion, friction stir welding and high-velocity impact welding. - Damage assessment from bird strikes on jet engine fan blades and aircraft structural components. - Fluid flow and fluid-struture interaction (FSI) simulations, such as free-surface flow, water impacts on structures, tank sloshing, centrifugal and impeller cooling pumps, or paravalvular leakage around artificial heart valve. - Implicit incompressible SPH applied to automotive water wading, water and rain management.

Generalized Reproducing Kernel Particle Method for Fragment-Impact and Fracture ModelingAcademic Advisor: Prof. J.S. Implemented an entire regression testing suite in python, which runs automatically every night to check every aspect of the code. Developers are informed every morning of which tests were failed. Interfaced the code with ExodusII library for advanced output capabilities.• 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘓𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 — Implemented meshfree capabilities into Sandia’s engineering mechanics simulation suite (Sierra):Added corresponding C++ data structures and interface with the Sierra framework and material model library, provided documentation.
