I created product listings, tailored ordering systems, and curated aesthetics to better represent the business.- Uncle's Family Kitchen Square: I worked with the business to create a vision board for brand messaging and overall aesthetics, then did a full overhaul of their company website to both streamline the customer experience and simplify back-end processes to reduce redundancies and confusion.- Abortion Support South Africa WordPress: I worked with the founder in order to determine the use cases and needs for the website, and then built a WordPress site to fulfill these needs. I managed procurement, product adoption, and customer retention for a beer & cider inventory that includes 800+ rotating products. I created inventory practices for maximizing customer interest while minimizing cost and waste. One of the most important parts of the job was creating customer outreach programs to educate and retain customers, including informational signs, newsletters, and employee education programs so that anyone could answer questions at any time.

I created a weekly Field Market that hosted dozens of vendors and featured different live musicians each week, and a rotating selection of local wine and cider producers pouring drinks. I created all of the marketing materials, including posters and flyers as well as a social media presence that attracted hundreds of customers every week. We created high end home goods out of wood and metal, ranging from carbon steel cookware to hand-carved wooden spatulas to forged kitchen implements etc. During my first summer there we won the Made In The South award given every year by Garden & Gun Magazine, which launched us into the spotlight. Overnight I had to aid in boosting output, training new employees, refining the product, and streamlining processes. Within a year we had grown our weekly production by literally 10,000%, going from two employees crafting up to three pans per week to twelve employees churning through up to three hundred per week during the busiest crunch time of the year. During that time I also took a lead role in drastically reducing production errors, increasing consistency and quality of the products, and refining/streamlining the entire production process so that employee training time was cut down from several months to several days. I also advised on marketing practices, drafted company statements, and resolved client issues to smooth the transition during this period of rapid growth. I also drove direct-to-customer sales at trade shows, organized community events, and created advertising material to drive growth. By the time of my departure we were creating products that were far more reliable, better looking, better performing, and better selling than anything we could have imagined at the outset. Show less
