The Project Engineer must understand the scope of a project and review the estimate and subcontractor quotes to fully support the decisions made in the field and to ensure projects are cost effective and completed on schedule. As the project engineer, it is important to develop and maintain relationships with the client, inspectors, and governing agencies involved on each project to produce an open line of communication regarding the projects needs. This allows the project team to minimize potential interference and maximize production.Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, building and maintaining construction schedules, reviewing daily Foreman reports to evaluate the scope of work performed and its daily cost impact, value engineering, cost tracking and forecasting, change order management/pricing, project documentation, progress reporting, scheduling subcontractors, weekly status meetings with the client, and daily observation & management of company, client, and personal safety standards and expectations. Support the Superintendent and Project Manager with construction cost control, daily cost reports, payroll, project documentation and other pipeline construction tasks as assigned in the field. This includes tracking labor, equipment (owned and rentals), material, tools, consumables, sub-contractors, and personnel on a daily basis. Also while in the field I will be maintaining a cohesive business relationship with vendors, and customers.

As an intern I worked closely with professional engineers as an engineering aid, assisting with work flow and various tasks as needed. These tasks included, but were not limited to collecting and testing water samples from pilot studies on water quality, assistoing field engineers with data collection and documentation, performing data analysis and data organization, and reviewing project documents and proposals

During the summer of 2010 I worked as a deckhand and cook for a commercial fishing vessel, the F/V Five Brothers. As a deckhand I assisted bringing the net on board and securing fish load, and keeping the boat clean and orderly. I was also required to assist in the general upkeep of the boat mechanics with the crew engineer. As the boat cook, I would develop a weekly meal plan and order the necessary food and supplies required for feeding the crew.
