    - Responsible for launch vehicle integration and structural analysis of spacecraft programs- Verified space vehicle requirements for input to final MSPSP and other range safety documentation in AFPSCMAN 91-710- Coordinated requirements and verification between space vehicle and launch vehicle providers- Worked with internal teams to gather verification evidence for ICD- Assisted in planning launch base activities with launch processing facility and launch vehicle provider- Developed and refined system and component level finite element models for analysis- Performed spacecraft and component level static, sine/random vibration, acoustic, shock analysis per environments provided by customers and launch providers and evaluate margins of safety- Generated reduced finite element models for coupled loads analysis with launch provider- Investigated structural failures from activities such as test and transportation
  • Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory
    Structural Engineering Intern
Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory Jul 2016 - May 2018
    Pasadena, Ca, Us
Worked with: Femap, NX Nastran, MSC Nastran, NX, MatlabStructural analysis for SWOT Project using classical (Bruhn, Roark, etc.) and computational methods (FEA)- Finite element modeling and analysis of several components including assemblies, brackets, harnesses, panels, bondlines.- Completed bolted joint analysis on tension and shear bolt joints using hand calculation methods based on FEA results.- Integrated submodels into system models in Nastran.- Generated and analyzed multiple configurations of spacecraft system from stowed to fully deployed.- Developed loads for static test of components based on system level vibration analysis and supported mentioned static testing.- Conducted a dynamic clearance analysis for a close approach area of concern.- Analyzed detailed potted insert adhesives along the edges of the spacecraft to determine shear and peel stress margins for dynamic launch environment.- Predicted bending angles of composite tube structure due to thermal load.- Modeled contact between ball and cone joint using NX Nastran to match Hertzian contact theory.- Created a Matlab script that formats Nastran OP2 data into a mat file that could be used for post processing in Matlab itself. Used the script to generate maximum stresses in SWOT payload honeycomb panels due to sine input notching.
  • Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory
    Systems Engineering Intern
Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory Jan 2016 - Jul 2016
    Pasadena, Ca, Us
Launch Systems Engineering- Used MagicDraw for launch vehicle system modeling using data gathered from mission planner’s guides and other sources for a web portal in order to make the information more accessible to those who are planning missions- Modeled constraints in the launch vehicle SysML model to take inputs from a potential mission planner and automatically find a suitable launch vehicle for their spacecraft- Assisted the Asteroid Redirect Robotic Mission (ARRM) in generating and populating launch system related requirements and documents to be delivered to the project and launch service provider
