More than any other this has been the position that I have grown with, fulfilling advisor to influences across the company. It’s my job to create visuals that will appeal to the wide range of customers Dobbies attracts - from young families looking to live the ‘good life’ to pensioners treating themselves to an afternoon tea for two.I manage projects from the planning and concept stages through to print & execution in-store, online and in some external campaigns. During my time in this role I have been instrumental in developing the brand across product ranges, packaging, event collateral, seasonal campaigns and in-store signage and point of sale.I have also project managed a number of product branding solutions working with packaging teams from our parent company Tesco - in particular the Dobbies 1865 range.

My role within the Buying and Merchandising team involved sales reporting, building seasonal ranges and product selection. Working with suppliers was a major part of my position and I often found myself negotiating cost specifications and terms directly (something I think has helped me more recently as I negotiate rates for printing). From sourcing new suppliers to conducting supplier meetings I was involved in every stage of the process. This position taught me a lot about personal organisation,planning and working in a demanding team environment. My buying role also instilled in me the importance of understanding your customers relationship to the product and the role of branding in creating a range.
