Examined TDP43, a protein whose mutation is associated with ALS. Was given a TDP43 plasmid. Subcloned and linked to Cherry. Transfected into HEK cells and visualized under a microscope. Ran proteomics after linking TDP43 to a promiscuous biotin ligase, BirA* with GFP and transfecting in yeast to determine protein interactions with TDP43. Utilized Agarose gel electrophoresis, bacteria cell culture, DNA extraction, mammalian cell culture, and PCR. Researched the interaction of vimentin with various aggregate-prone proteins including synphilin and TDP43. Transfected HEK cells with synphillin and TDP43 in cells with silenced and non-silenced vimentin. Observed the nature and mobility of aggregates and took movies using a microscope.

Investigated the photolysis of nicotinoyl azide at 254 nm in methanol, water, and acetonitrile. Ran NMRs and compared the aromatic region of the azide to the aromatic region of potential products. Some laboratory techniques, including one of the NMRs and a TLC, indicated that the photolysis in water may have produced 3-aminopyridine.Worked on synthesis of various picolyl esters. Synthesized picolyl phenyl acetate, confirmed by NMR.
