Ezra R. Hessel is an experienced Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all diverse LGBTQIA+ individuals with a specific focus on empowering transgender and gender-expansive individuals to live as their most authentic selves. His professional transition from sales and marketing and managing a retail team, to a career devoted to providing care to LGBTQ+ individuals was catalyzed by his experience at The Ali Forney Center where his primary role was to connect queer youth with stable housing and educational resources. He has since worked diligently to tailor his graduate experience and education to transgender health by creating the first outpatient practicum position with the Washington University School of Medicine Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and serving as a student leader for the Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA) at The Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. He is a committed advocate for equitable access to healthcare through personal storytelling and lobbying efforts and takes an intersectional, gender-affirming, healing-centered, and strengths-based approach to individualizing integrated care.
