ActionScript 3 Compiler (ASC) 2.0 (written in java), a ground up rewrite of the ActionScript 3 compiler. ASC2 has now been donated to Apache as part of the Flex project. ASC2 was both a compiler, and a code intelligence engine for Flash Builder, an IDE for ActionScript development, based on Eclipse. * Implemented the entire name resolution system, * Implemented large parts of the symbol table, semantic analysis, and code generation systems. * Did much of the performance tuning, resulting in as much as a 9x performance improvement over ASC1. * Implemented a peep-hole optimizer to optimize ActionScript Bytecode. Flash port to Windows MobileFlash Virtual Machine (written in C++), which was donated to Mozilla as the Tamarin project. * Improved memory sampler API to more accurately report on used memory. * Added a mechanism to support generic types to implemented a generic Vector type * Prototyped support for non-nullable types, though it was never added to the language. * Prototyped an ECMAScript 4 (ES4) compiler, targeting the Tamarin VM. Compiler was written in ES4, and could compile itself. ES4 was never standardized so the project was abandoned. ActionScript 3 compiler (java and C++ versions) * Added support for a generic Vector type, including adding support for generic types. * Implemented much of the semantic analysis and code generation phases of the compiler.
