As application specialist AI at Demcon Data Driven Solutions I work in the field of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning for mechatronic systems. I have a diverse role, from spotting opportunities for the use of AI, to consultancy, to development of courses on machine learning to programming ML algorithms. This way my hunger to innovative- and diverse work is satisfied as well as the desire to both go into depth technically and look at a more strategic level. At Demcon data driven solutions I work on:- increasing functionality of mechatronic systems by advanced time series analysis, for example by using recurrent neural networks to classify medical events- machine vision applications combining state of art convolutional neural networks with synthetic data to create more robust algorithms, for example for object detection in surgical images.

At Orikami I work as a Senior Consultant Data Science which means I am technically involved with data analyses (statistics, machine learning), building data strategies and developing product concepts (human-centered design) for organisations in healthcare. For example I have been involved in projects with Hersenz, St. Maartenskliniek, Pluryn, Vilans and Janssen.

Team lead of Orikami's consultancy team. which involves strategic development of the team, being part of the management board, and guidance of team members in their work and personal development.

At Orikami I work as a Data Strategist which means I am both technically involved with data analyses but furthermore I am working on building solid data strategies for organisations in healthcare. For example I have been involved in projects with Hersenz, St. Maartenskliniek, Pluryn, and Vilans and Janssen.

Taking a year off to follow my passion for travelling. This has been a character building experience which has enhanced my self knowledge, patience and cultural awareness. A few highlights have been:- Motorbiking about 6000km through Vietnam- Completing 2 diving courses and doing >30 dives in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia- Trekking over 250km in the Himalayas in Nepal- Completing a ten-day Vipassana Meditation Course in Malaysia

The TNO traineeship is a two year-program with a strong focus on both professional and personal development. In these two years I have visited 3 different departments, working as scientist/innovator, business developer and project manager. Besides the department work, trainees are involved in TNO-wide business strategy projects. For personal development trainees are having peer review sessions, personal coaching and full day trainings. Below I summarized my activities. 1) Equipment for Additive Manufacturing, @Eindhoven (November 2014 - June 2015)The first months I worked as a scientist/innovator at the EfAM department of TNO. I was responsible for setting up a project and collaboration involving additive manufacturing (3D-printing) and biological research at TNO in the field of 'Organ on a Chip'-research. Besides this project I worked on evaluating machine requirements&specifications for a next generation metal additive manufacturing machine.2) Nano- Instrumentation, @Delft (July 2015 - February 2016)My second department, Nano-Instrumentation focuses on contamination control for the semiconductor industry. I worked as a scientist/innovator on the development of real-time sensor for molecular contamination in vacuum and the realization of an experimental facility for measuring particle generation in vacuum robots. Most of my work involved computional calculations and simulations with COMSOL.3) Thin Film Technology (Solliance), @Eindhoven (March 2016 - October 2016)The department of thin film technology of TNO is part of the Solliance organization, a joint innovation centre by IMEC, ECN and TNO. At Solliance I worked both as a scientist and as a business developer, about 50:50. The scientific work I did is on two topics: 1) the reliability of CIGS photovoltaic modules and 2) the fabrication of translucent solar cells. As a business developer I was involved in the continuous development of the different value propositions and strategic course of Solliance.

Intern at the department of Molecular Diagnostics. Chemistry/Physics related research involving the technique MagnoTech. Grade: 9 out of 10.

Intensive teaching and tutoring of final year high school students (VWO). Leading a three day training to prepare students for their final examinations in the subjects Chemistry and Physics.

Student Teaching Assistent at the Faculty of Science. Teaching and tutoring of tutorials, practical courses and examinations of 1st and 2nd year students Chemistry, Natural Sciences and Molecular Life Sciences. Courses that I have given are: Mathematics 1,2,3 and 4, Thermodynamics 2, Mechanics 1

A 4 months research internship at the department of Bio- Organic Chemistry under supervision of prof. dr. Jan van Hest en dr. Rene Brinkhuis. Thesis Title: "Label exchange at functionalized polymersomes". Grade: 9 out of 10

One year's research internship at the HFML,a unique research institute in the Netherlands runned by FOM and the RU. My project was about the selection of supramolecular chirality by rotational and magnetic forces under supervision of dr. P.G. van Rhee and prof. dr. P.C.M. Christianen. Thesis title: "Aggregation kinetics in a chiral selection process"Grade: 9 out of 10
