In my former position as a Shelter Monitor with Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission in Van Nuys, CA, I held a crucial role that focused on safeguarding the health and safety of all residents within the shelter environment. My responsibilities encompassed direct supervision of clients, wherein I was tasked with closely monitoring their activities and interactions to ensure adherence to established program rules and to foster a culture of respect and accountability. I undertook the following key responsibilities:Meal and Supply Distribution: I was responsible for the timely and efficient distribution of nutritious meals and essential supplies to clients, ensuring that their dietary and basic needs were adequately addressed. This task required careful attention to detail, as I had to keep track of inventory and ensure fairness in distribution.Client Engagement: I actively engaged with clients through regular conversations and activities, building rapport and trust.
