The FBI's Background Investigation Contract Services (BICS) Unit is responsible for background investigations to ensure that FBI personnel are trustworthy and suitable for access to classified information. BICS also conducts background investigations for: Law enforcement executives and elected officials, Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) personnel, Classified Information Procedures Act (CIPA) personnel, and State and local officials. BICS Special Investigators are retired or former federal law enforcement investigators who interview individuals to determine their suitability for a security clearance. They interview candidates, employees, employers, associates, references, and others about their employment history, lifestyle, criminal and financial background, and more.

Assigned to the Physical Training Unit and responsible for instructing new agents at the FBI Academy. Additional duties include oversight of inventory, coordination and oversight of government contractors, responsible for new purchases for the physical training unit, review of changes and improvement to curriculum, and a counselor in the employee assistance program.

Special Agent assigned as a full-time recruiter responsible for crafting the overall recruitment plan for the entire New York Division with a focus on diversity. Also, assist with the New Agent Phase II interviewing of prospective agents along with pre-assessment interviews and physical training testing. And later assigned to the New York Operations Center responsible for internal and external coordination of communications, interface with the general public, assist with arrest operations orders, assist with the processing of subjects, and counselor in the employee assistance program. Retired as a Special Agent out of the New York Office with almost 25 years of service.

Assigned as an instructor in the Physical Training Unit responsible for training new agents.

When called to active duty, primary assignment was to the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) as General McChrystal’s liaison Officer to the FBI, other assignments/duties included Team Chief to the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency for the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and Liaison Officer to the Intelligence Community.

Dual Branched as a Finance Officer and Civil Affairs Officer. Extensive training courses in finance, civil affairs, weapons, fitness, officer evaluation, recruiting. Certified Fitness Instructor and Airborne qualified.

Assigned to the Cyber Division at FBIHQ. Responsible for overseeing the InfraGard Program from a nationwide perspective. Coordinated with more than thirty chapters to ensure the seamless two-way flow of information.

Worked on various violations to include counter-terrorism, white-collar, surveillance, internal audit, background investigations, operations, threat response. Additional duties included Underwater Search and Evidence Recovery, Certified Defensive Tactics Instructor, Certified Fitness Advisor.
