Living currently in a city (Dubai) where Interior Design is not a luxury but a necessity, I have come to realise the undeniable gap in the market for Executive Management Consultancy within this varied, fast, ever expanding industry. Building efficient, creative and most importantly cost effective bridges between the client, the project and the design execution teams are where I find my skills of most value. Owning, running and establishing new designs, markets, ventures and opportunities within a variety of cultures, countries and nationalities brought me to this point of first hand implementable, inspirational experience of leading design teams and design implementation to excellence.

Dubai

By joining Avenue Interiors I established and started a whole new division specialising in Interior Design. Through the development of Avenue Design Studio I have grown this company, who previously only focused in curtaining, flooring and wallpapers to a more comprehensive design business. Over my 8 month contract I have expanded Avenue into the design world by successfully completing a full turnkey residential renovation project in Abu Dhabi, managing the design team in developing a hotel standard room design with 3D rendering to secure sectional project approval for a Hospitality group in Qatar and am currently working on securing a Hospitality design project in Nigeria.

Uganda

After a satellite office was opened in Kampala Uganda in 2008 as an expansion of the Johannesburg design studio Decor Beautiful - I relocated to Uganda to run the new start-up. During the last 7 years being based in Uganda I have grown the business to a workforce of 84 people with a furniture factory, landscape design division and several interior designers from all over the world. We have completed high end design projects all over East and West Africa, South Sudan and the US.

South Africa Johannesburg

In a city such as Johannesburg where you as a designer compete with at least 2000 other designers in your area I knew I had to truly focus on excellence and my obsession for progressive thinking was born within those borders of competition. Within 5 years before moving to Uganda to run the African branch of Decor Beautiful I turned the business into a fully fledged design studio consisting of 8 designers, a furniture factory, a curtain factory and a retail shop. We established Décor Beautiful in the mid-range residential design environment where ‘creative solutions’ became the slogan of the day while slowly but steadily worked our way into the hospitality and high end residential industry. Upon my relocation to Uganda we have successfully completed several Hospitality projects such as the renovation of Rosebank Hotel Johannesburg, Refurbishment of Idle Winds Lodge and Conference Centre and the design concept for Radisson Blu, Sandton Conference extensions.
