Hi, I'm Fabian. I'm an experienced marketer with a track record in consulting and IT businesses. My approach to marketing is pragmatic, creative, and unconditionally market-oriented. I'm a big fan of strategic opportunism: Pursuing clear-cut long-term goals while remaining nimble enough to implement effective short-term activities and achieving the most with what you have at your hands.With an academic background in cultural anthropology, I've been imbued with the strive to understand people better through empirical research from the start. When pivoting into a marketing career after university, I soon realized that marketers share the same strive, they just call it market orientation.Starting my career, I worked as a marketing specialist in a boutique consulting firm. In this job, I was part of an award-winning brand refresh project, turning our respected, but slightly dusty boutique consulting brand into a modern, attractive one (and still respected, of course). During my time at the firm, I gained hands-on experience in many fields. Among others, I was running digital marketing campaigns with ROIs of up to 2.000% and responsible for managing our company website, increasing new client project enquiries by 36% YoY and website visibility by 100% through various SEO and content marketing activities. I've since pivoted to a more managerial position in a larger company and switched industries to IT. Joining the company only months after a complete rebrand, I was tasked with bringing the new brand to life from day one. I'm mostly working on brand positioning: carving out clear value propositions which resonate with our target groups while staying true to our brand core – and delivering them through the right channels, with the right partners. Among others, I've contributed to an increase of brand identification among our 5.000 employees by 15% YoY.Outside of work, I'm a passionate DJ and still occasionally play club gigs. I enjoy homebrewing beer, digital music production, travelling, and gaming.
