Shortly after completing my master's degree in Forest Sciences, I joined Cepan's technical team as a Project Analyst, responsible for fundraising, designing and conducting environmental projects in several areas, including forest conservation and restoration, sustainable management, climate awareness, bioengineering and green infrastructure in urban landscapes, landscape planning and other topics. In this role, I also refined my skills in preparing high-level technical reports, data collection and other types of scientific and non-scientific products, in addition to having developed several skills of engagement and communication with different stakeholders, and integrated project management.
Recife E Região, Brasil
Over two and a half years, I developed my master's thesis in the Graduate Program in Forest Sciences, which was entitled "Anthropic Disturbances in the Periurban Atlantic Forest: Impacts on the Ecosystem and the Plant Assembly". During this period, I carried out laboratory work and field collections, focusing on the Dois Irmãos State Park (PEDI), in Recife - Pernambuco, with a focus on evaluating how human disturbances impacted the diversity and carbon stock in plant species of the Atlantic Forest. With this experience, I was able to develop new skills in scientific research, data collection and analysis, academic writing and communication.
Recife E Região, Brasil
As a undergraduate teaching assistant, I was co-responsible for the elaboration of theoretical and practical classes in the subjects of General Ecology, Ecology I and II, Conservation Biology and Ecoclimatology, accompanying the teachers in the classes held and providing support to the students. During this period, I learned a lot about ecology practices and academic communication, having been of great importance in sharpening my communication and teaching skills.
Recife E Região, Brasil
The research project aimed to retrace the history of the landscape of the Dois Irmãos State Park, the largest urban forest fragment in the state of Pernambuco, located in the city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. The area of 1,161 hectares was analyzed through a historical series of satellite images (1968 - 2015), using ArcGIS 10.3 software, to determine changes in land use and occupation, as well as the succession processes that occurred in the landscape that includes this fragment and its buffer zones in the last 50 years.
Recife, Pe
In this research, I analyzed the environmental sustainability practices adopted by the hotel sector in the Historic Site of Olinda - PE, based on the Brazilian Standard NBR 15.401 from ABNT and environmental sustainability criteria from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
Recife, Pe
In this research project, I evaluated the impact of 10 tree species on climate comfort in large cities that suffer from the formation of heat islands, comparing temperatures and relative humidity in urban areas with and without vegetation cover in the city of Recife - Pernambuco - Brazil.
Recife, Pe
This research, carried out in a coastal area in the Northeast of Brazil, aimed to analyze the ecological impacts caused by the bycatch of non-target fish species, during the fishing of penaeid shrimp with a trawl. We analyzed more than 10 thousand fish caught by trawls over 2 years, where it was possible to measure and compare seasonal differences in populations, in several variables. I was able to develop precise skills in fish identification from the northeastern coast of Brazil, biometric measurements, marine and estuarine ecology and writing scientific reports.
Recife, Pe
The project aimed to evaluate and describe the associations of four types of legumes to a pasture system and their benefits for soil fertility and microbiology, analyzing the availability of nutrients in the soil and litter generated by each species. In this laboratory, I was trained to use equipment, perform machine-based analyzes (eg chromatography), produce chemical solutions, etc. In addition, I developed scientific writing, group work and presentation skills, culminating in the dissemination of research results at the Ecology Congress of Brazil (2011).
