I chose Electrical and Electronic Engineering as I have always been fascinated by working on electronics projects that allowed me to problem solve and end with a product that I was happy with. I also enjoy learning about larger power systems and understanding how they work and what needs to be done to make them more efficient for the future of New Zealand and the rest of the world.Currently, in my third year of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, I have been able to be involved in learning about many principles including transmission lines, transformers, three-phase power, transistors, engineering mathematics, programming and so much more. I also have the opportunity to do some hands-on work in the Labs putting the theory I have learnt to test. I am fully dedicated to continuing my studies to learn and create opportunities to grow more in engineering positions.I love to get involved with events outside of my university studies, particularly with groups such as Engineering NZ, UC IEEE, Young Energy Professionals Network, UC Sustainable Design and the Electrical Power Engineering Centre with whom I’m among the 2024 scholar cohort.
