My duties and responsibilities-- Perform Searches in cell blocks, inmates clothing, recreation areas, any place where inmates live, work, play, worship, and visitation rooms. - Worked the "Main Control" room, I had to verify Inmate count 3 times a day by the floor officers getting a physical count. When all accountability of inmates is complete, activities for the day may continue.- Responsible for the where abouts of 1,200 inmates. - Worked two other Control Pods, within the facility with the same responsibility as the Main Control, but with fewer inmates. - Monitor inmates throughout the day, that were released to work, the Prisons workshops, school, infirmary, chapel. - Other Inmates conducted other jobs as orderlies and runners, ensure proper inmates were let out of their cells. - Relied on Floor Officers making their rounds, and Monitor the Monitors in my control pod.- Have good communications with the Floor Officers, Officers in Charge and Main Control and other control pods. - Inmate transports, out of facility and internal house transports.- Trained on Use of Force: Non-Lethal and Lethal Weapons: Non-Lethal, Baton, Wood or Rubber; Rubber Baton Rounds; OC (Pepper Spray); CS&CN; that will cause pain and discomfort to help subdue an unruly inmate(s).- Lethal Weapons: Shot gun, .38 Pistol, M16, AR15.
