In my role as a Senior Software Developer, I played a pivotal part in building new key features for our software, with a focus on enhancing our aggregation engine. One of my standout contributions was the development of DirectQuery, a groundbreaking feature that delegates part of the aggregation work to external SQL databases, significantly improving the possibilities and the costs. This was an excellent opportunity to become familiar with many modern data warehouses and databases such as Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Redshift, and ClickHouse.Additionally, I led the initiative to build a new Python API for our software, making it more accessible to users who prefer not to use the Java API. This effort expanded our user base and provided more flexible integration options.During this time, I honed my skills and began creating training materials to onboard new developers, ensuring they were well-equipped to contribute effectively. I also took ownership of large parts of the codebase, striving to keep our code modern and efficient by advocating for the use of new tools and best practices.
