Energy manager with a passion for sustainability. Sales of CO2 and Energy products of Attero like steam, electricity and green gas.Business development was my previous field of work, where I developed innovative processes for recycling of waste to products. The waste sector is an interesting and dynamic field that is in constant development and in transition to a more sustainable system. The scope of the work ranged from technology research to business case development (R&D). The technology research started with desk research and often lead to preparing and conducting experiments on a pilot scale. As a project leader I was responsible for managing the project team and navigating the project towards completion, while gathering the crucial data to develop the business case that would help the board of directors with the final investment decision.Typical project size was ±25 million euros Capex. Largest project a 250+ million Capex project. As an engineer I have a few passions;* A major theme is my fascination with complex systems, the emergence and evolution of both natural and man-made complex adaptive systems. My enthusiasm is kindled by discovering how a system ‘works’, understanding the many internal and external interactions, and finding leverage points in a system to steer it in a desired direction.
* A related theme is sustainability. I always want to find out the fundamental origin of sustainability problems within a system and am eager to come up with solutions. I am thrilled to understand something and then apply the insights to a particular case and create the desired outcomes. I have experience with sustainable systems design in various schools of thought, like the circular economy, biobased economy, industrial ecology, biomimicry, permaculture and the blue economy.
* My third passion is related to creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship; it is about novel ideas and the potential for realization that they comprise. It entails scouting for new and emerging technologies and finding ways to facilitate the step from start-up to application at full-scale by running pilot plants.* Finally, I want to learn about practically anything. This drive helps with understanding complex systems and human behavior, quickly understanding the nature of new technologies, and disseminating knowledge about sustainability.
Strengths: learner, strategic, creativity, organization of complexity, design of sustainable systems
My vision: designing sustainable systems to restore natural biodiversity. This is the essential 21st century skill for humanity
