I've managed the technical center that was placed in Brazil and took care of 14 furnaces in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. This technical center took care of designs, laboratory for physical and chemical analyses for glass and raw material, glass school for employees, store and cut of refractory, technical assistance for the furnaces and production, building of steel structure and refractory.Productions were for flat glass, containers, tableware, glass wool and reinforcement. And furnaces were end-port, side-port, oxy-melter, unit-melter and electrical.Total cost of department per year was 1 MEuros. Technical team = 32 peoples.

I was responsible for refractory sales for glass producers in South America, giving also some technical assistance for small glass makers. With this technical assistance I've opened a new market for these small companies.I was linked at American sales branch and had a deep contact with French sales and technical department.It was a good opportunity to know all kinds of furnaces and productions that Saint-Gobain didn't have as lamps, pharmacy containers, enamels etc. also to learn about refractory production and application.I brought clients to inspect our material, before to ship at plants in France, Italy, USA and China.Market was 8 MEuros per years, and clients were 100.
